SHE COUNTS Women's economic empowerment platform
WHO?
Launched by ExxonMobil in partnership with Women’s World Banking and Center for Global Development, She Counts works with financial service providers to put savings and financial tools in the hands of women, enabling them to save securely, invest in their business and transform their lives. In partnership with others, they launched an innovative pilot program to provide mobile saving accounts and business training to more than 5,000 entrepreneurs in Indonesia and Tanzania to test supply and demand side interventions. The result of the pilot will be a large research report to show the best ways to advance women entrepreneurs' economic empowerment in developing countries.
WHAT?
Instead of merely promoting a final report, we branded this innovative platform to drive awareness around the work done by the partners in the pilot program and to best draw attention to the research findings at the time the report is final. The intention is to show how public-private sector relationships can best work to create a world where every woman counts by helping women save and plan for a more prosperous future. After this launches, the partners hope that other organizations will want to take part in the platform.
My team pitched that the research would be quite heavy, and that in order to best show the effect, we should capture and promote stories of real women from the pilot program. We sent teams to Tanzania and Indonesia to capture photos and footage for the site and for a host of videos to bring the platform to life.
I led an internal naming and branding exercise and the website I designed will launch at the same time as a few launch events in the U.S.
